2017 Greg Bowles Four Year Scholarship Application
Student Application for College Scholarship

If you are a high school senior and meet the following criteria, you may be eligible for the 2017 Georgia Mining Foundation Scholarship which will be awarded in the name of Greg Bowles. 

1.   You have been accepted to the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mercer University or Southern Polytechnic (a copy of the acceptance letter must be attached).

2.   You attained a minimum score of 1300 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (this includes Verbal, Math and Writing).

3.   You must be in good academic standing.

4.   You must receive a faculty recommendation (teacher or counselor) and approval from the principal or headmaster of the school.  The recommendation (maximum one page) should address the following personal qualities: integrity, written/oral expression, extra-curricular activities, personality, motivation, initiative, leadership and community involvement.

5.   You must answer three of the eight questions (see link above for essay questions).  Each essay must not exceed one page in length per question and must be typed.

6.   You must provide a copy of high school transcript.

The deadline for the Application and Letter of Recommendation is January 31, 2017.  The application and essay information is available below.  Please print this information and return your completed application to the Georgia Mining Foundation office at 113 Arkwright Landing, Macon, GA  31210.
